Sorry it has been so long without any updates.
We have spent what seems like every waking minute trying to get some building projects completed. The equipment shed is finished expect for wiring, and the garage is complete minus insulation and wiring. My supplier is having trouble procuring the insulation I want which has delayed the completion of that building.
We had gone back and forth over the past few months on when to start barn remodeling, and have decided to move forward right away. Within the next couple weeks, we will begin remodeling barn 2, which will include stall windows, a small lounge, bath room, and wash/grooming stalls inside the barn. The barn will also receive new siding and doors.
Soon after that we hope to begin a hay storage facility so we don’t have to continue storing hay in the same barn the horses reside…but before that barn gets started we will tear down the old dairy barn that remains on the farm.
Once all this is complete…and if we are still standing, we will tear down barn one and construct a new barn in its place for the boarders in that facility. We are in the process of discussing temporary stall options with those boarders for the period of time that the barn is under construction.
These are very busy, but exciting times at Bittersweet Acres. We very much appreciate everyone’s patience with the mess. I feel very confident that we will all be happy with the finished product.
In other news we will be having a fall immunization day. Dr. Cook from Woodford Equine Hospital will be here October 24, 2009 for fall shots, and any additional vet services you may need. This is not mandatory, but will save on a vet visit fee if you choose to participate.
I will try to get some new pics up soon.
