Bittersweet Acres Farm

Updates to the updates

OK so the plan that I posted a few weeks ago has already changed.  I had a few days off around Veterans Day and took the opporunity to get started with the demolition of the old dairy barn to make way for a hay storage facility.  Since we have had nice weather I thought it would make more sense to get that project completed then move on to the remodel of barn 2 as it will be less weather dependant (less earth work).

Most of the barn is down.  I still have the office in front to get to the ground and the foundation removed and buried under what will be the hay barn.  I hope to get that completed this weekend so the builders can start on the barn soon after Thanksgiving.

Thanksgiving week is going to be busy here as Erica will be in New York to support the Adair County High School Marching Band as they take their 18 State Marching Band Championships to march in the parade.  Elliot and Aubrey will be taking care of the baby and I that week until Erica can get home. ha.

On another note.  We really want to thank everyone for their patience as I am sure you all think the farm is never going to get “put back together”, but believe me it will and will be a much nicer place to board.  The other thing I have failed to make clear through these projects is that we have no intention of raising rates once the barns are remodeled and complete.   Our hope has always been to have a nice, safe, well maintained facility where people can afford come and enjoy their horses.  We understand that all of the above is somewhat subjective, but feel that we will have improved the place tremendously once the building projects are complete while continuing with our current rates…so for anyone who is waiting for the big rate jump…relax.

That’s all for now
